yesterday's session

didn't post it yesterday because i finished quite and i had alot of thoughts. actually i played 2 sessions(looking at the graph it's not hard to tell when the 1st one ended lol).
my 1st thought was to play carefuly in the beginning($130+ downswings are not uncommon, see my older graphs). i then realised some players are taking advantage of me by double-barreling every pot.

hand #1

Zyeru shows:

Hero wins $25.26 ( won +$12.22 )
Zyeru lost -$13.04

while it was a good spot for the 2nd barrel, this player was a maniac so i called. if i folded, i'd lost ~$3 but when i called i won ~$12 which is 1:4. sometimes i jam(but not yesterday since i was in "careful" mode) when a maniac c-bets turn and it doesn't make sense(unlike in hand#1 actualy) and i'm afraid i greatly underestimate EV of this line.
looks like my turn raise is close to optimal though:

(over last 18.5k hands)

speaking about maniacs..

the bears on checks, shmanki bets $1.75, Hero calls $1.75, <- agressive call vs a maniac(probably not good anyway)
the bears on folds

shmanki goes all-in $34.92, <- WTF?!
Hero folds

Final Pot: $5.10

shmanki wins $39.77 ( won +$2.60 )
Hero lost -$2.25
the bears on lost -$0.50

and the very next hand:

the bears on lost -$1
PRISONBUILDER lost -$0.25
shmanki lost -$11.50

without hand #2 and stats on that player i'd not call. in fact i never call bets on every street with a 2nd(and then 3rd pair) nor do i think it may be profitable..but i think i definetly should bluff more rivers. 2-barreling and then check-folding the river is very -EV

speaking about river bluffs...

hand #4
$0.1/$0.25 No Limit Holdem
8 players
Stacks:
UTG Tibus69 ($3.88)
UTG+1 daniboy88 ($25.70)

Final Pot: $10.75
Hero shows:
daniboy88 shows:

Hero wins $10.22 ( won +$4.97 )
daniboy88 lost -$5.25

that was a terrible bluff by villain. with river bluffs i have to take down the pot about 40% of the time to break even so i have to revise my river play too.

over last 18.5k hands:

"any river raise"

need to raise more...

"river call"

looks like i have a leak here. def need to call less

but how much did you lose?
i haven't slowplayed any hand for ages. thats how i did it yesterday:

hand #5
$0.1/$0.25 No Limit Holdem
9 players

Stacks:
UTG thepokerbrain ($19.80)
UTG+1 JUMAESDO ($34.62)
MP1 str8to8 ($16.99)
MP2 Torsja ($24.25)
MP3 plutonium239x ($28.61)
CO Hero ($25.00)
BTN siemasiema ($18.09)
SB evenn ($5.00)
BB SieTlaS ($28.01)

Pre-flop: ($0.35, 9 players) Hero is CO

5 folds, Hero raises to $1, siemasiema calls $1, 2 folds

Flop: ($2.35, 2 players)

Turn: ($2.35, 2 players)
Hero checks, siemasiema checks

River: ($2.35, 2 players)
Hero bets $1, siemasiema raises to $5, Hero raises to $15, siemasiema calls $10

Final Pot: $32.35
Hero shows:
siemasiema shows:

siemasiema wins $30.74 ( won +$14.74 )
Hero lost -$16

i still think raising the turn was better than flat calling as i was getting value from many worse hands(Ax, Jx, JT, any lower set) so i definetly should add slowplaying to my arsenal.
today/tomorrow i'm going to revise my strategy because i see many spots where i lose value or don't extract enough value..i finaly received my "mathematics of poker" by bill chen from pokerstas (ordered it in may, parcel was sent from UK in the end of apr - thats not quick at all!) and i hope it will give me new insights.

and ofcourse it's not enough to be a good player - you must also play well :)

my bankroll is only $54 below all-time high(which was 2 days ago). i love fridays - it's the day when i recieve rakeback :)
