shortstackers go home

bankroll: $184.44 (+$7.43)
FPP: 101(+5)

all tabless were full of pesky shortstackers. another feature of 10nl games: i buy-in for $10 and there may be as many as 8 guys who buy in for $2 at the same table. noone buys in for 40 cents at 2nl games. in theory i should have stole their blinds and open-shoved with AA and KK but thats not how i'm going to spend my evening so i quit. but luckily they have no clue how to play short stacks they just buy-in cheap.

BTN: $2.95
SB: $9.75
Hero (BB): $11.55
UTG: $10.00
UTG+1: $11.30
MP1: $2.10 <- pesky shortstacker MP2: $1.55 <-2nd one CO: $13.75 Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BB with QQ of hearts KK of spades
2 folds, MP1 raises to $0.20, <- odd play. most likely a donk 4 folds, Hero raises to $0.50, MP1 calls $0.30

Flop: ($1.05) QQ of diamonds JJ of spades 22 of hearts (2 players) <-top pair, good kicker. i'm ahead of most of hands from his range, easy decision
Hero bets $1.60
, MP1 calls $1.60 all in

Turn: ($4.25) 44 of diamonds (2 players - 1 is all in)

River: ($4.25) 66 of clubs (2 players - 1 is all in)

Final Pot: $4.25
Hero shows QQ of hearts KK of spades (a pair of Queens)
MP1 shows KK of diamonds KK of hearts (a pair of Kings)
MP1 wins $4.05
(Rake: $0.20)

he had kings. what an Einstein! now i know i'll get all my money back. here's how i've done that:

Flop: ($1.00) AA of diamonds 99 of hearts 55 of diamonds (3 players)<-brilliant! he's dead now Hero checks, UTG+2 bets $0.90,<- gotcha! CO folds, Hero raises to $9.70 all in, UTG+2 calls $2.85 all in

Turn: ($8.50) 44 of hearts (2 players - 2 are all in)

River: ($8.50) KK of spades (2 players - 2 are all in)

Hero shows AA of hearts 55 of spades (two pair, Aces and Fives)
UTG+2 mucks 77 of spades 99 of spades
Hero wins $8.10
(Rake: $0.40)

79s? suited 1-gap? limped in under the gun? right..he's not shortstacker anymore. too bad rake killed almost all of my profit in these 2 hands.

this hand made me think:

UTG+2: $2.65
MP1: $9.70
Hero (MP2): $15.00
CO: $1.85
BTN: $10.00
SB: $11.20
BB: $10.00
UTG: $1.55
UTG+1: $13.05

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is MP2 with KK of clubs AA of diamonds
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.10, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.40, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls $0.30

Flop: ($0.95) 55 of diamonds QQ of hearts 99 of clubs (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.95) 77 of diamonds (2 players)
UTG+1 bets $0.30, Hero raises to $1, UTG+1 calls $0.70

River: ($2.95) 77 of spades (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $2, UTG+1 calls $2

Final Pot: $6.95
Hero shows KK of clubs AA of diamonds (a pair of Sevens)
UTG+1 shows KK of hearts 99 of hearts (two pair, Nines and Sevens)
UTG+1 wins $6.65
(Rake: $0.30)

ok thats not how i bluff with AK. how did he call me with just middle pair. and how did he call pre-flop raise with K9s..is he a calling station? gotta work on my bluffing more..as it is pure math :)

  1. i dont think its fair to call them shortstackers when they are just fish without any $$ :B

  2. ha maybe. since i dont have stats on 10nl players in my PT maybe i'm mistakenly putting them on super-tight range
